TCY GUIDE: Best Tees

Ah, the perfect white t-shirt. It can get you from arts and crafts to work to even formalwear if you really really know what you're doing. And have the right t-shirt of course.

If you notice, and now you will, all the girls whose style you absolutely love, probably look effortless and pulled together at the same time–and we're willing to bet they typically do so in a t-shirt.

It can be a staple, and a piece de resistance. It's a cherry on top, and a basic at the same time.

Have a reco we might have missed? Send them to us at hello@thecurrentyou.co and we'll keep our TCY Best Tees Guide updated with your picks.

For the woman who will rock a t-shirt to a job interview and get the job.

This t-shirt is just thick enough to be modest but holds its shape to to work just as well under a suit or tucked into a pencil skirt just as easily as you can wear with shorts on the weekend. J.Crew, $32

For the woman who likes her tees worn in.

You're hard pressed to find a "vintage tee" like Madewell's that's got that soft, worn, slightly translucent look and feel and still holds up. And here's the thing. At this price, even if it doesn't, you're find to grab a few a season. Madewell, $32

For the woman who still likes to have a "going out" top.

Ah James Perse. They basically perfected that silky cotton that feels and is an investment t-shirt. This isn't our first pick for a park day with the kids for example, but do you! It's totally worth it though for a dressier tee. ShopBop, $85

For the woman who likes her t-shirts with a little bit of sustainability and a lot of good karma.

Cuyana is a fave for their incredible business practices. Did you know that they offer a service so you can send back donation items? We love the premise of "fewer, better things." And this super soft tee that supports a family workshop in Peru also just wears well. Cuyana, $45

For the woman who likes her white tee to stay active.

Lululemon's cropped white tee is sweat-wicking enough for hot yoga and cute enough to do literally anything else.

Lululemon, $48

For the woman who needs tees on deck for whatever the day literally throws at her.

No one ever got mad at having a few extra white tees on deck. A pack of men's Hanes a size down is perfect for arts and crafts, in a pinch for a workout, the beach–literally ANYTHING. They last surprisingly long and the price, well, let's just say you won't be mad if a baby spits up on you or you spill some wine or anything else that might come at you that day. Hanes @ Target, $16
