TCY GUIDE: WFH Clothes
Updated: Aug 15, 2020
We've all really developed a whole new appreciation (or resentment? depends on the day) for being home. But one thing that we're not looking to let go of any time soon is loungewear, everywhere. With a few caveats.
First, we need it to be business on top, so that it's not a dead giveaway that you're in something as comfortable as pajamas.
Second, quality matters. if you're going to live in your loungewear, you want it to last through all of the washes and anything the day throws at you.
Lastly, it's gotta look pulled together. I want to feel like I'm so comfortable I could take a nap but LOOK like I'm taking over the world.
So check out some of our favorites
Lululemon Wunder Under Hugh-Rise Tight Full On Luxtreme in black. Put on a button-down, you're meeting ready. Swap a sports bra and a tank, you're ready for a run. Truly gets you out of any bind.
Eberjey Charlie Casual Jumpsuit will have you dressed in no time and honestly, you might forget you're not in PJs.
Pretty much all of Everlane's Summer Essentials, but definitely this puff sleeve blouse and lounge short. Dressy but also not at all.
Madewell's Tapered Huston Pull-On Crop Pant. We can all agree jeans are the worst. These are actual, real pants but comfy enough to lounge around in.
Also from Madewell, the midi tee-dress is low-key kinda sexy with heels! But 9/10, we're wearing with sneakers or sandals. Needless to say with the swelter, the breezy silhouette is summer perfect.
Okay we promise, last one from Madewell. This striped raglan sweatshirt isn't your old ratty college sweatshirt. Bell sleeves add some interest and it's a good one for feeling cozy and looking pulled together year-round.
If you've never heard of ADAY, you're welcome. Their basic, high-quality staples all sort of just go together, and the uniform line is literally that. Pieces that match effortlessly, for whatever your mood.
No secret we're big fans of Cuyana. This jumpsuit is soft as all their Pima gear but the design (especially in the back!) is so pretty you can dress it up to leave the couch (if you want).
The number 1 rule of WFH clothes is no ironing. While linen shirts might not SOUND like they would follow that rule, this button-down from J.Crew defies that logic. For days when you want to be all business with no fuss.
You know when you get served an ad on Instagram and click buy? This is one we don't regret. Marine Layer is a brand out of SF and the Simone Dress came into our lives via Instagram. Best, comfy, somewhat dressier dress ever.
Oh Zara. Back in the day, when we could go places, you were my go-to for "going out clothes." But now, the flowy dresses are Zoom ready, make us feel human, and let us fight the swelter. Zara, $70
All white, all summer is the motto. These are more functional puff sleeves than most and the ultra forgiving shape is perfect no matter where you're at in your ab journey (nowhere). Shopbop, $104
Guys. AMAZON FASHION. I shit you not. One of my most adorably dressed friends was wearing this on a mini vacay recently and it was SO CUTE. Normally I'd be skeptical but at this price, I'll buy four. Amazon, $32
Anyone else treat going to Target like a spa day these days? Same. This t-shirt dress feels like a Monday-Sunday find. And in like 300 colors, again, might pick up a few. Target, $20
Have you gotten 300 emails from J.Crew lately? Yeah, they're having a major sale. This summery, colorful dress of many colors is under $100 right now and will get you all the way through Labor Day. J.Crew, $78
This is another Target find–from their Who What Wear line that lasts longer than some of their others. If you can find it at your local store, you're in luck. But otherwise, they're still in stock online (for now). Target, $40
